2020 SEASON LATEST INFORMATION
March 31st
The MSSL is staying the course while being cautiously optimistic in asking team parents to be flexible and patient regarding what the 2020 season may/will look like.
- The season is currently pushed back to tentatively begin in late May or early June in order to get insurance in place AND if pools are reopened.
- Plan to run 3-4 weeks of practices and as many meets as possible.
- Dual/tri meet schedule may change depending upon which teams are willing to participate in meets this summer.
- Most likely the 2020 division championship and all star meets will be cancelled
- Clinic dates & location may need to change depending upon availability of a facility & clinicians' schedules. The first Scorekeeper's clinic in late April is cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date.
- May 1st the MSSL Executive Board will make and send all MSSL team reps the final decision regarding the 2020 swim season.
We have been told: People do not determine the virus schedule, but rather the virus will. The schedule changes from day to day, week to week, and month to month. Our swim families deserve a SAFE summer league program IF possible. No matter what the outcome, it will definitely look different than previous seasons. The MSSL Board intends to: 1) keep you informed 2) keep all MSSL families safe and 3) provide the swimmers with the hope of a possible summer swimming program.
