CHAMPIONSHIP MEETS: NS SWIM CENTER COMPLEX 6/30 & 7/1
Location: 8400 N 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78249 Admission: Free
Facility: 2 (two) 8 or 10 lane, outdoor 25 yard competition pools
Seating capacity: Spectators are asked to sit in the upper, covered bleachers; only officials, coaches, swimmers, and working volunteers are allowed on the deck. Seating capacity: 2,400 bleacher seats for spectators. Teams will be seated in the lower bleacher sections. No one is allowed in the Diving Center area, between the Swim Center and the Natatorium.
Friday, June 30th Division 2 teams: Heights @ SO, Mt. Lodge, Schertz, & Timberwood Park; Division 4 teams: Castroville, Converse, El Dorado, JCC, Lifetime, Oaks @ Sonterra, Parkwood, Sonterra Country Club, Stonegate Hill, & Valley Ranch
Saturday, July 1st Division 1 teams: Fair Oaks Ranch, Olympia Otters, Smithson Valley, & Sonoma Ranch; Division 3 teams: Promontory Pointe, Steubing Ranch, Stone Mt., Whispering Oaks, & Wildhorse
POOL ASSIGNMENTS: FRIDAY, Division 2 – SOUTH Pool & Division 4 – NORTH Pool
SATURDAY, Division 1 – SOUTH Pool & Division 3 – NORTH Pool. NOTE: NORTH Pool is the one closest to the Spectator Entrance to the Swim Center.
MEET DIRECTORS: LOGINA VINCESLIO & KIM TERRILL
SWIM FREAK: Set up near the entrance across from the ticket booth selling swim items such as goggles, suits, etc.
2 FOOD TRUCKS: Under MSSL contract to provide concessions for our meets are Daddy O’s Cocina and Slider Provider. The food trucks will be in the circle just outside the rolling gates of the Swim Center. Food service begins at 8:30 am – 3 pm each day. The Swim Center concession stands will NOT be open for our meets. Food trucks accept cash, credit/debit cards, etc. Bring only small bills: 1s, 5s, 10s & 20s. No large bills please! Food and drink items may be brought into the Swim Center. No glass bottles allowed. Be sure to place all of your garbage in the bins to keep the Center clean!
TEAM PACKETS: See, Donna Witt, outside the front gates upon arrival, for your team packet which includes warm-up team lane assignments, volunteer badges, relay change forms, and individual event withdrawal forms. She will collect: team money due the league for champs’ shirts and/or late joining swimmer fees, extra DQ slips, dual meet ribbons, and distribute any team’s shirt orders that were not picked up on 6/28.
Relay Changes & Scratches DUE NLT 9:15 am: Coaches turn them in to the HEAD SCOREKEEPER of your Division. The North Scorekeeper Area is located at the end closest to the Swim Center entrance with the South end opposite the North.
AWARDS: 1ST – 3RD Place Team Banners for each Division; Medals for 1st-3rd place events and relays and 4th-16th place ribbons. Awards volunteers for all divisions will be working under the covered area as you enter the Swim Center and will report to that area to work the meet.
READY BENCHES: are located in the 3 tier bleachers at each end of the pool. DIVE FROM DECK for 10&U and STARTING BLOCKS for 11&O swimmers.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: If necessary, the Swim Center will be cleared during inclement weather. The NS staff monitors the weather via an app called WeatherBug. If we cannot continue the meet, we must exit the Swim Center, go to our cars, and may or may not be able to finish the meet/s. Make-up Champs meet/s are not an option.
ALL STARS MEET: Hosted at the JCC pool. Friday, 7/7 with warm-ups at 5 pm - the meet starts at 6 pm. More details to follow.
* All first place finishers from all events at the four Division Championships.
* Then, the next four fastest times from any division/s to fill out one heat of every event swum at Champs. Note: Sometimes a swimmer or relay team may have a faster time than the first place winner in one of the Division Meets who is automatically entered. Beware of this before asking why your swimmer/s did not qualify for All-Stars.
* If there is a tie for the 8th place, a swim-off would be conducted immediately at the beginning of the All-Star Meet.
* Relay teams should swim the 4 relay members who placed at Champs. If necessary, only 1 substitution can be made to the relay team. If any swimmer or relay team is not available for All Stars, the lane remains open.
* All-Stars entries are automatic. Coaches do not need to enter their swimmers.
